Transformative Bodywork in Berlin Somatic
Bodywork

As a somatic bodyworker in Berlin, I support people in reconnecting to the aliveness of their bodies, so that more resilience, access to their own resources and embodied attention become available to them.

Through the somatic transformative process, together we learn how one might release old life cycles, stress, trauma and physical tension. My work aims to support people in reconnecting to themselves and others.

A 1:1 somatic session begins with conversation — a client seated in the practice room in Berlin-Kreuzberg

People often come to me when they feel

  • that they've stopped knowing what they want, or lost in life.
  • stuck in the same place in their relationships, repeating a cycle.
  • that they understand their pattern perfectly and still repeat it.
  • overwhelmed by life and uncertain how to navigate it.
  • disconnected from themselves, their bodies or close people.
  • drawn to pursue a passion or a calling, but held back by fear and uncertainty about stepping into it, being seen and expressing themselves.
  • chronic tension, pain or difficulty that they assume may be psychosomatic.
  • like they're missing a filter other people seem to have and "feel too much".
  • that they want to feel more, not cope better.

You don't need to know yet what causes the challenge.
Often the body can lead where the mind doesn't have an idea yet.

What I'm offering02

Transformative Bodywork

Hands-on somatic & energy work · 1:1 sessions · 60–90 minutes · Berlin-Kreuzberg

Transformative Bodywork is developed by Sophie Kinkel and grew out of the Grinberg Method and her shamanic research.

Holding a pattern takes energy. Bracing against something, pushing a feeling down, staying a little on alert. Much of this happens in the body, quietly, for years.

In a somatic bodywork session we bring attention there, through touch, breath and a conversation. Together we notice what belongs to this moment and what is an older strategy you no longer need to carry the same way. When something no longer needs holding, it's allowed to be released. Old feelings, emotions and states may come up. You're supported by me in this process of integration, at a pace fitting you, with care, presence and attunement.

Some people who come think of themselves as quite connected to their body. Often we find they have been looking at it from the head. This work is about learning to be your body rather than only feeling or observing it.

My approachthree principles03

How I work

  • 01 Your pace. Nothing is pushed. You can slow down, stop, or change your mind at any point. You can move, express yourself – the space is for you to feel free and safe just the way you are.
  • 02 Your body leads. I follow what your body is already doing, and gently guide your attention with suggestions if needed – so you can receive mirroring and better awareness around your patterns. I stay attuned and highly sensitive to the subtle shifts in your system.
  • 03 Nothing to fix. We're not fighting a problem. We make room for what has been held, so more of you is available. Together, we get curious about how you can allow yourself more.
A session04

What's a bodywork session like?

01
Step 1 of a somatic bodywork session: clarifying your intention in conversation

Clarifying your intention

We start with what brought you today. It can be something in the body, a pattern in your life, or simply curiosity.

02
Step 2: bringing attention to breath, posture and tension in the body

Bringing attention to your body

We notice what happens in your body relative to your intention or generally: breath, posture, tension, numbness, ease. Together, we learn what you do in your life when meeting a certain challenge.

03
Step 3: hands-on Transformative Bodywork through touch, breath and awareness

Working through touch and awareness

Through touch, breath and conversation, we follow what's present and unfolding. Held patterns can begin to be perceived, soften and release.

04
Step 4: the session moves at your own pace, with the nervous system setting the speed

Moving at your pace

Old emotions, memories and psychological states may come up to be integrated. Intensity of emotions like anger or old rage is welcome here. Or the session may be quiet and restful. Both are welcome and led by your body – nothing is forced.

05
Step 5: connecting what happens in a session to everyday life

Connecting the sessions to daily life

We look at how what you noticed shows up in everyday life, so the change can continue beyond the session. Upon request, I can give you exercises to increase your general energy level and attention.

06
Step 6: reflecting together on the somatic process and adjusting the intention

Reflecting and readjusting the intention if needed

After a number of sessions, we check in on what has shifted. I recommend starting with a few sessions and seeing the effect; regular sessions give the work room to build.

A rhythm that has generally proven successful is weekly or bi-weekly sessions, which make it easier to anchor the transformation.

What my clients say05

I came to Polina curious about Somatic Bodywork and hoping to access emotions and physical responses that I often struggle to reach through thinking or talking alone. The experience turned out to be far more profound than I expected.

What I appreciate most about working with Polina is the combination of depth and gentleness. We take time to talk about what is happening physically and emotionally before moving into the bodywork, and throughout the session she uses conversation, breath, attention and touch in a way that feels incredibly attuned. There is no sense of forcing the body toward a particular response — she seems to listen to it with you.

Marina

I have had few sessions with Polina and when I tune into that memory I can still feel the immense caring field that held me. Polina naturally creates a safe space that is welcoming to whatever needs to come. She gives gentle attention to what is arising, calling it out and at the same time respecting the pace that I needed. I felt simultaneously guided and fully in my own agency. She helped me moved through some dense emotions and her checking in afterwards offered a soft landing. I want to full heartedly recommend her sessions and am grateful for having received them. Will come back happily again.

Barbora

Polina is a fantastic bodyworker. She is super sensitive to energy and brings presence, precisely where it is needed for blocks to release and for the self to feel deep safety and comfort. I thank you from my heart, for your gentle care and restorative support you apply in your sessions. Always again.

Felix

I saw Polina for somatic bodywork and felt very held by her presence. She creates a warm, safe and caring space, while also being professional and grounded.

What stood out most was how present she was and how intuitively she could tune into my needs. I felt able to process, share and integrate on a somatic level in a gentle and supportive way.

You can really feel that Polina cares deeply about her work. I would warmly recommend her.

Joanna

Polina has a very steady and gentle presence that immediately makes it easy to land in the session. I felt deeply seen without ever being pushed or rushed. She has a subtle but precise way of noticing what's happening in the body and bringing awareness to it. I left feeling clearer, softer, and more connected to myself.

Working with Polina felt like being held in a calm and attentive space where everything I brought was welcome. She has a natural sensitivity for emotional undercurrents and helped me stay with what was present without overwhelm. After each session I felt more integrated and grounded in my body and emotions.

M · Berlin 2026

Polina creates a space that feels both safe and alive. I appreciated how she gently reflected what she was sensing while always letting me stay in control of my own process. The sessions brought unexpected insights and a real sense of release. I always left feeling lighter and more present.

Polina is a deeply kind and warm person — you feel instantly welcomed and at ease in her presence. I was especially impressed by her ability to sense even the subtlest shifts in my body and to hold space for them with clarity and care. Our sessions led me to several big realizations about patterns that had been quietly limiting my life. With Polina's guidance, I was able to resolve parts of them and gain the awareness to meet them differently when they show up. I always left feeling relaxed, grounded, and more connected to myself.

Who comes06

Who this is for

People come when something in life is asking to change and talking about it hasn't been enough. Some feel stuck or lost. Some are tired in a way rest doesn't fix. For some it's constant bracing, even if the outside seems fine. Some notice the same patterns in their relationships. Some are simply curious what else is possible.

What helps this process most is curiosity and determination for the transformation. This work is something we do together, not something done to you.

My particular interest is highly sensitive people (HSPs), and patterns formed early in life, which some call developmental trauma. I work with adults, one to one, in Berlin-Kreuzberg and online, in English, Russian or German.

What this isn't

This is not psychotherapy, not medical treatment, and not massage. In this process, we collaborate towards an intention that genuinely inspires you and that you'd like to embody.

I don't diagnose and I don't treat illnesses or disorders. If you're in acute crisis, or what you're carrying needs clinical care, please start there. I'm glad to work alongside therapy, not instead of it. If what you need sits outside what I offer, I'll tell you and help you look elsewhere.

About me08
Polina Anderson, somatic bodywork practitioner for highly sensitive people in Berlin-Kreuzberg
Polina Anderson

Hello, I'm Polina

Attention – within myself, to other people, to the perception and experience of life – has been at the centre of my interests for around a decade. In my twenties, I immigrated twice and had to start life from scratch, burned out in a corporate job, and reached a point where I felt so much in my own body that it was hard to navigate life. I tried to push harder through discipline and self-control, until depression and health challenges brought a period of surrender and deep reevaluation. I knew that what I was living was a very limited version of me, and that I needed to find another way. I felt disconnected from who I actually know myself to be. When I started listening within, a whole new path opened up.

I began my search with meditation, yoga, healthy foods, nature, travel, psychotherapy, movement and dance. Receiving Transformative Bodywork sessions was one of the turning points. As a client, I began learning about my patterns and how to set myself free from what seemed like my own skin. Relational dynamics, unprocessed traumatic events and subtle ways of protecting myself that I was not noticing before became visible, so I could gradually transform what no longer supported me – into general life force.

Something fundamental began to shift – I gradually became more of myself. With that, I found new ways to relate to my own high sensitivity (HSP), body and needs – creating a life that feels much happier and more fulfilling. I'm called to do this work so more people can experience such a shift for themselves and unlock their life's potential.

My Trainings09

Some of my trainings & methods

I'm always learning – whether through structured certified courses or independently through books and available material. At the moment, I especially focus on working with highly sensitive people (HSPs) and people who want support in working with their developmental trauma (alongside licensed therapy).
